The entrance of a house is not just a doorway, it serves the first impression and sets the tone for what lies beyond. The first relationship of the divine energy field develops with the entrance doors. Just as the proverb says, "The door you choose determines the path you take," it is crucial to recognize that the entrance to a home is not just a physical gateway, but also a symbolic one, influencing the journey and fortunes of those who reside within.
Vastu Shastra, a 5000-year-old practice, has long been regarded as a science of architecture and spatial alignment. Its principles were originally designed with kings and their vast responsibilities in mind, particularly focusing on how the structure and orientation of their palaces could influence the well-being of their subjects. Vastu Shastra advises against placing entrances in the South and West directions, as these were thought to invite negative energies. However, over time, these beliefs have been challenged by the experiences of some notable figures.
For instance, Parasher, a revered sage, provided insights into the positioning of entrances in a home through the lens of Ashtakvarga—a Vedic astrological system. His teachings suggest that there is no universal rule when it comes to the placement of entrances; rather, it should be tailored to the individual's unique kundli. This perspective is supported by historical examples where a kingdom flourished under one ruler but faced hardships under their successor. A classic example is King Dashrath, who had a prosperous reign, but his son, Lord Ram, faced exile despite inheriting a well-established kingdom.
This highlights the importance of not only adhering to Vastu principles but also considering an individual's kundali (birth chart) when determining the best orientation and layout for a home.
An ideal coordinate for an entrance depends on the birth chart of the family head. To allow all the elements to influence one’s life positively, one must build an entryway according to Vastu. Realistically, if a desirable doorway isn’t doable, one can create a virtual entry to balance and fulfill all the impacts.
The profession of the head also influences the course of direction. For instance, the Southeast entrance is ideal for doctors, the South for film directors, the West for businessmen and shopkeepers, and the Northwest is crucial for spa owners.
